Definition of cooperative and experiential education programs: Structured educational strategies which integrate classroom study with learning in productive work experiences in a field related to a student’s academic and/or career goals. These programs are a partnership among educational institutions, employers, and students. The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) is a nonprofit organization of individuals, institutions, and companies dedicated to improving all aspects of engineering education. Founded initially as the Society for the Promotion of Engineering Education (SPEE) in 1893, the society was created at a time of great growth in American higher education.
